 INTRODUCTION

These duets are based on some of the most requested excerpts for trombone in orchestra auditions. They approach the same material as in the original extracts, adding a dimension of chamber music, with which I intend that the boredom often associated with the prolonged repetitive study be eliminated by a different stimulus. Here, the melodic material of the original compositions is added, not only from the trombone section but also from the general musical elements of the work, giving the interpreter a sense and a general perspective of the works.

These duets are generally more complex than the originals, as they intensively explore the register, the technique, the rhythm, the control, the articulation, the tuning, the resistance, the dynamics, and the musical style. The main objective is that, with the practice and improvement of these duets, the execution of the original passages becomes significantly less intimidating and the interpreter gains self-confidence.
